As the final Bone Naga Guardian crumbles under Savik's mighty stone fists, you finally have time to truly take in this massive chamber. You stand precariously atop the macabre carpet of bones of thousands of creatures. A few dozen feet ahead of you is a jet-black pedestal on which stands a huge golden statue of a hideous demon, hunched and stooped. Gold chains as thick as a human wrist truss the statue to the outer cavern walls by its hands and feet, while a fifth gilded chain binds the creature to the pedestal floor by the throat. The expression on its face seems broken and defeated. Thin coils of sulfuric smoke vent from its nostrils and lips.

As you step closer to the statue, you notice that its neck chain connects to a great disc of stone set into the floor. The stone is slightly askew, revealing a dark pit beneath. Around the lip of the capstone, ancient runes flare with a dull purple light.

  1. B'Elanna tilts her head to the side as she contemplates the demon's face. It occurs to her that it's unlikely that all is as it should be if the stone is askew, and she tries to make out the ruins, wishing that she knew where Adrie was. She usually has rituals to help with this kind of thing. She considers whether she recognizes the demon.

  2. Smaug wonders if the statute has anything to do with the Cult of Loki. The thought of Loki makes Smaug start to smile. Luckily, it only appears as a smirk to his companions, so nobody notices.
